When you find it can you ensure that it has been added to your library and then download it if needs be. You won't need to download the full game as the files will already be on your system.

No you can't. Even worse friends and invites are handled through origin as well. So unless you have the overlay on you can't accept party invites without alt+tabbing, going to the chat and accept there.
