Why does minecraft take so long to load

So it sits at the loading bar of the boot screen? If that is so it might an account sign in issue as it takes sometime to auto sign if you have slow internet. But if possible just tell if your internet is fast or slow. Also try playing on another network so check if you can play sign in issue generally make the game stuck at boot screen since it trying to sign you in.

I’ll take anywhere between 5-10 minutes to load up but entering the game will cause Minecraft to freeze until I force it to close. Then, upon checking the task manager, it shows that Minecraft is taking up minimal memory and 0% CPU usage, as if it had just given up on loading.

Second of all, that might be the WORST problem is, when you join ANY server, it takes around 30-40 seconds to join it. Minecraft freezes totally, but is still responding. then suddenly after the long wait it goes over to “Loggin in…” Loading world”, and it finally joins. I know other people have had this issue before.

That being said I am certain the reason is Gregtech, but I was wondering what specifically about that mod could be causing the load time to be almost 7-8 minutes, whereas if I remove it the load time is approximately 2-3 minutes. Any clues as to what can be done, besides removing Gregtech?

and vanilla minecraft? AAA games will delay loading as much as possible so you can just jump into the game as quickly as possible, check the resource usage of those the next time you start. They are also optimized to need as little processing as possible while loading. Minecraft on the other hand loads everything before the mojang screen disappears.

Try de-fragmenting your hard drive (I recommend using Defraggler), may take a while depending on how much stuff you have on your HDD but it’s worth it to do it twice a year. Try using the default JVM arguments for Minecraft. Update your APU drivers. Try using a random resource pack.
