Why can’t i break blocks in minecraft survival

I know you hold the mouse button to break I have had minecraft for 6 yrs, and all the sudden I cant break blocks. It just reappears after I break it. Also, I have optifine, but when I went into creative I could break and place blocks. I have also tried, to change all the graphics settings and it still did not work!

But with the same user, if I change to survival mode by simply typing: Code (Text): ./gamemode 0. I am unable to break any block. I can try (make the animation, contrary on adventure mode) but the server seems to refuse their destruction, making them reappear as soon as they are broke.

The forum also suggests that the bug may be centralized around your spawn location, so if you do not wish to update, move about 50 blocks away from spawn. Overall, checking Java and changing your Minecraft video settings should do the trick. Block reappearance usually means you’re lagging and/or your graphics settings are too high for your computer.

I made a new 1.8 Creative world with cheats enabled and bonus chest. In Creative mode I can break blocks but as soon as I swap to Survival I can’t break anything. I can hit entities, but no blocks or grasses can be broken. When I click on a grass my hand/tool swings once and doesn’t complete the break. When I click+hold on a block the same.

Log in to your Multicraft here and stop your server. Click on Files and then click on Config Files. Click on Server Settings. Find Spawn Protection Size, change the value to 0 (zero), and click on Save. NOTE: Yours is probably set to 16. If it’s not, no worries, just set it to 0 regardless of the existing value.

Click the little pen icon next to your world name when you load it up to change the settings, then change the default game mode to creative and log in to the world and break a random block, then save and quit and change the setting back to survival.
