What kind of batteries go in a blink camera?

Blink is powered by two AA Lithium batteries. All systems will ship with batteries, and they're easy to replace when the time comes; simply slide open the battery compartment, take out the old batteries, and insert the new set.

Simply so, can I use regular batteries in my blink camera?

The cameras are shipped with two non-rechargeable AA 1.5v Lithium batteries. Blink camera batteries should be replaced by Energizer Ultimate 1.5v Lithium AA batteries or the equivalent. You also want to avoid Alkaline based and rechargeable batteries, as they may cause issues with your camera.

Additionally, why do blink cameras need lithium batteries? Lithium batteries perform better in the cold than most other battery types. I expect that the reason Lithium has been chosen is due to the XT being an outdoor camera and so needing to operate in colder temperatures, and also due to better battery life.

Also asked, can blink cameras be hard wired?

That's why we have developed a unique weatherproof power cable for the Blink Outdoor & Blink XT2/XT Camera. Now you can operate your security camera continuously and never have to worry about the batteries again.

How long do blink batteries really last?

two years

If one of your Blink cameras isn't responding, you may see error messages like "Camera Busy" or "Thumbnail Failed". Wait two minutes for Internet service to be restored, then try using your camera again. Power cycle your camera. To do this, remove the batteries for 10 seconds and reinsert them.

Which is better lithium or alkaline batteries?

Alkaline batteries contain no heavy metals that can pollute the soil and groundwater. In addition, they do not pose a risk of explosion in landfills. Alkaline batteries are generally less expensive than lithium batteries and therefore more cost-effective to use.
When the batteries are failing, the camera LED flashes Red 5 or 6 times after the Blue recording light goes out. Please make sure you have fresh AA Lithium non-rechargeable batteries installed. If the red LED stays on, please contact support.
The Lithium batteries that are included with the Blink system are NOT rechargeable. The Blink Indoor and Outdoor, XT and XT2 feature a rubberized cover over the USB port.
The delay between clips or retrigger time gives you enough time to Disarm your system. By default, the system will capture a 5 second clip, wait for the retrigger time of 30 seconds and if motion continues, capture another 5 second clip. This retrigger time time can be configured under camera settings.
The bottom line. Blink cameras aren't the most impressive cameras we've seen, but they're a decent, affordable option for people who want basic surveillance. We're impressed with Blink's wire-free design, small size, and long battery life.

Are Duracell batteries Lithium?

These mounts are also more secure that those that come with the Blink XT camera. With the old mounts, the camera just snapped into the mount making it very easy to steal.
Blink cameras cannot function without an active WiFi connection or an online Sync Module. If internet connectivity is lost or if the Sync Module is powered off, the system will go offline until it both are restored.
The Sync Module 2 has an external USB port that accepts a "thumbdrive" or USB memory storage device of 256 GB or less, to maintain a copy of video files that exist on your Cloud based storage account.
Amazon issues fix after some Blink home cameras found vulnerable to hacking. Tenable Inc, which discovered the issues, said seven severe vulnerabilities in Blink's XT2 camera systems could have given attackers full control over the device and allow them to view the camera footage remotely.
The Blink cameras do not offer continuous recording, though you can leave the system armed for motion detection for any interval of time.
The Blink XT2 is built with a new chip, which yields a longer two-year battery life via two lithium AA batteries, and enhanced motion detection over the original. The XT2 looks almost exactly the same as the XT, and, similarly, the XT2 is weather-resistant (IP65 rated), and it can record 1080p footage.
