Thereof, why is it called dubstep?
It's called “dub” because like dub-reggae it was a kind of music stripped down to a slowish and minimal atmospheric drums and heavy bass. The “step” comes in because it was evolved from, and stripped down from, what was called “2 step garage”. slow, minimal, heavy bass)”.
Furthermore, is Dubstep difficult to make? Like all electronic music, good dubstep is hard because you need to know both how to listen to what the machine wants AND how to creatively break its pre-packaged conventions so as to advance the art of expressing the feelings of the genre.
In this manner, is Dubstep BPM 70 or 140?
*Dubstep is 70 - 75 BPM, which is equivalent to 140 - 150 BPM depending on if you count the snare on the 2 and 4 or the 3 of the measure.
Why is dubstep hated?
Often times people hate it more because of some of the people listening to it than the music itself. Dubstep is awesome but, like all great music, if you don't go looking for it you will only ever listen to the pop-crap that idiots who still think techno is cool come out with.
