How to keep minecraft running in the background

Open up your inventory (or the crafting window or furnace window) and then minimize the game. I wonder if you can do CTRL+ALT+DEL and then when Minecraft loses focus just downsize it. Hitting ‘t’ to bring up chat works too, and you can still see what’s going on.

I think the other guys already answered your question, but the quick-n-dirty is to do this… Hit F11 to go out of full-screen (you need to be in ‘windowed’ mode). Hit ESC to bring up a menu (the mouse pointer will be free so you can click on other stuff).
