I am fairly confident that there is a way to do it. On Bedrock edition PC (windows 10 edition), Pocket edition, and Play-Station there is a way to add a community server. The button seems absent on X-Box though. My guess is I’m just missing a setting.

Currently, you cannot add your own servers on Minecraft on Xbox, BUT their is a chance that in a future update will allow players to add their own servers. Right now, this new Minecraft is only in beta, so their are still some updates to come.
