Keeping this in consideration, does Apple Photos support RAW images?
A. Photos, Apple's free image-editing program now included with the OS X operating system, can handle picture files in many digital camera RAW formats, as did Apple's previous iPhoto software. (Apple's coming iOS 10 operating system will also let people collect RAW image data from the device's camera.)
Similarly, how do I view RAW photos on my iPhone? Tap the camera icon at the top of the screen. By default, the camera will only capture JPGs. To capture RAW files, tap the little RAW icon in the bottom left.
In this regard, how does Apple Photos handle raw files?
The Photos app saves disk space on your Mac by displaying optimized JPEG versions of your RAW images. If you edit an optimized image on your Mac, Photos downloads the RAW file for that image. When Photos downloads a RAW image from iCloud Photos, it creates a new full-sized JPEG for optimal viewing on your Mac.
Can you edit RAW photos in iPhoto?
iPhoto imports RAW-format photos in the same way it imports any other photos, organizes them next to your other shots, and lets you edit them using advanced editing tools designed for RAW photos. Select one or more RAW-format photos, and then choose Photos > Reprocess RAW. This overwrites all previous edits.
