The main differences between the G502 Hero and the G502 Proteus Spectrum are that the Hero has the new Hero Optical Sensor that has a maximum DPI od 16,000. The Hero also has a better-braided cable because the cable on the Proteus Spectrum frayed. Lastly, the Hero has the newer Logitech logo on it.
Is the Logitech g502 too heavy?
YES it is too heavy. I used one on FN for about a year before switching to a G Pro Wireless and you would be amazed at the difference it makes. Not having infinite scroll wheel is the only negative, but it's worth switching to a lighter mouse for SURE.
